Compulingo Privacy Policy

Last updated 10 October 2026

Compulingo is an app for learning about computers, coding and AI. This policy explains which personal data we use, why, who helps us, how long we keep it and what your rights are. We keep it short and use as little data as possible.

1. Who we are

Compulingo is made by Digiforq, a sole proprietorship (eenmanszaak) registered in the Netherlands, KVK 42054097, Boermastraat 4, 9641 GC Veendam. For individual learners and for families (section 7) Digiforq is the data controller. For School Mode the school is the controller and Digiforq processes data on its behalf (see section 6).

5. The AI support chat

The chat helper (Byte) answers questions about Compulingo. Your messages are processed by Cloudflare Workers AI to create an answer and are not used to train AI models. We do not store chat conversations. Only when Byte cannot solve a problem and you agree to a ticket, we save your message, the conversation and your e-mail address so our team can reply. Do not share passwords or payment details in the chat.

6. School Mode (primary schools)

Schools can use Compulingo in class. In School Mode:

Parents with questions about their child's data should contact the school first; we help the school answer.

7. Compulingo for families (learning at home)

A parent can register their family and add their children, so they can learn at home. For families:

8. Voices and characters

The character voices in the app are recorded in advance with ElevenLabs. No personal data of users or pupils is sent to ElevenLabs.

9. Cookies and similar technology

We use strictly necessary storage to keep you logged in and remember your language and settings. Analytics cookies (PostHog) are only placed after you accept them in the cookie notice. You can change your choice by clearing the site data in your browser.

10. How long we keep data

11. Security

Data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Access to the database is protected with row-level security, so users can only read their own data. Only Digiforq's owner can see aggregated usage counts (numbers, not individual profiles). No system is 100% secure; we report breaches as the law requires.

12. Your rights

Under the GDPR (AVG) you can ask to see, correct, delete or receive a copy of your data, object to processing, or restrict it. You can delete your account yourself in the app, or e-mail [email protected]; we reply within one month. You can also complain to the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

13. Children

Personal accounts are for people aged 13 and older. Younger children use Compulingo through their school in School Mode, under the school's responsibility, or at home through a family that their parent registers and manages (section 7).

14. Changes

We update this policy when the app changes. The date at the top shows the latest version; for important changes we inform users in the app.
